CIRCUMCISION FAQ

Frequently asked questions about circumcision and Circumcision Clinic Cardiff are answered below:

Where do I come?

The clinic is located at the following address:

Circumcision Clinic Cardiff
Transcend Consulting Rooms
98 Wentloog Road
Rumney
Cardiff CF3 3XE

How long will the procedure take?

Expect to spend about 2 hours at the clinic, though it can be longer. This includes the total procedure time as well as the time spent after the procedure to observe your child for any problems.

Why does it take so long?

Your baby will be assessed to ensure that he is well. The doctor will take some details about your baby and about his health since birth. It is advisable to delay the procedure if your baby has received his immunisation for at least one week. If the doctor thinks your child is not suitable for the procedure, a full explanation will be given as to why and alternative arrangements will be made.

We would also wish to observe your baby for half an hour after the circumcision to ensure that the procedure has been successful without any acute complications like bleeding.

What will happen at the clinic?

You will be asked to sign a consent form agreeing to the procedure being carried out on your son. It is mandatory that both parents are present to sign the consent form. The pros and cons of the procedure will be explained to you as well before you sign the consent form.

How much does it cost?

Call us to obtain a quotation for a fresh or a revision of a procedure. A prior consultation for a revision will have to be carried out which will incur consultation charges liable to be paid by whoever uses that service.

How do I pay?

We accept cash only. You will be expected to make the payment to the receptionist/ secretary on arrival.
